Tele Directories (B) Sdn Bhd had been in the directory business since 1972. The company started operations with only 3 members of staff. Tele started modestly on 3 digit telephone numbers to the latest 7 digit numbers and the most up-to-date
communication facilities. Ever since then, the number of advertisers and copies of directories had grown almost 10 fold.
The staff at Tele Directories controls the entire range of directory day to day operations, from the selling of advertising through to computerized page make-up, directory publishing and marketing activities.

Yellow Pages online was officially launched on 17th August 2006 by His Majesty, Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddian, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam, at Pusat Persidangan Antarabangsa (International Convention Centre-ICC). allows users to gain speedier access to the information they require by using more comprehensive and more user friendly search engine.
The Directory & Yellow Pages Business
The directory is more than just a listing of names, addresses and telephone numbers, it is a means of connecting people. Whether it is a person seeking a business, calling people locally or internationally. The directory has become the essential and trusted reference point for all local and international communities.
To achieve these high levels of quality, Tele Directories controls every step of the directory process. Each functional area is highly trained, especially customer contact personnel like the sales force. Our sales force receives weeks of intensive training.
To answer the question “what should we be doing?” we asked our customers what they expect from their Yellow Pages and how we should perform. A survey questionnaire form was included in the 2005/06 issue. Opinions responses and feedbacks from about 1,000 telephone subscribers in Negara Brunei Darussalam were collected and compiled.
According to the Survey, 98.10% of the subscribers use the classified section (Yellow Pages) to obtain telephone numbers and information on products and services.
96.42% of the subscribers said ‘YES’ when they were asked whether the telephone directory was user friendly.
96.70% of the subscribers rated the 2004/05 issue ‘VERY SATISFACTORY’ and were extremely impressed by the improvement. They specially commented on the attractiveness and appealing new look from artwork concepts, designs, colors to the high-quality of the whole book.
The survey also found that there was an extremely high awareness of the Yellow Pages, resulting in a significant number of calls for our advertisers.
Comments compiled from our respondents were very encouraging, we consistently re-design our operations to deliver what the customers want and suggestions are extremely important to us in our continuing efforts for growth and improvement to attain 100% customers’ satisfaction.
