OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

Technical Design Engineer is responsible for the preparation of Technical Drawings using AutoCAD and any other in-house design software (i.e. BricsCAD), and ensuring that all design drawings conform to standard specifications or requirements.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To produce Technical Drawings on Steel Trusses and Steel Framing for projects assigned by the Manager and to expedite projects within the standard periods of work days as mentioned in the working procedure for drawing submissions.
- To assist in general inquiries and provide on-call Support and expert advice to assist with general inquiries on material, design, costing, and installations.
- To provide Technical drawings on Steel Trusses and Steel Framing Systems, emphasizing cost savings in design and ensuring effective use of material to increase profitability.
- To ensure that all design drawings or engineering checks on the project assigned are prepared within the standard stipulated dates as specified in the work procedures.
- To conduct site measurement as and when necessary, to check for site and drawing conformities as well as to record all discrepancies and to ensure the correct dimensions are informed prior to the drawing stage.
- To prepare Cutting list for Steel trusses projects complete with estimates on all associated accessories ensuring complete take-off prior to pro for material production.
- Work hand in hand with Quantity Survey Department on producing estimates for quotations and costings.
- Liaise with Client/Client’s representative for project related matter.
- Perform any other task as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.
- Familiar in the use of design software for structures (i.e Autocad or BricsCAD).
- Advantage will be for candidates with knowledge in engineering designs calculations.
- Have understanding of British or Australian Standards current codes.
- Good Communication and work management skills.
- Possess a valid Driving License Class 3.
